THE PAST: The Lakeway Players has been the cornerstone of Lakeway's community theatre for a remarkable 25 years! Founded in 2000 by a passionate group of theatre enthusiasts, we began our journey by performing plays written by our very own members. Fast forward to 2025, and the Players have proudly produced dozens of plays and musicals, including beloved hits like 9 to 5, Into the Woods, Steel Magnolias, and Nunsense, to name just a few.
THE PRESENT: To enhance the quality of our performances and comply with new regulations on cordless microphone transmitters, the Players have recently invested in eight new microphone systems, a sound mixer, an equalizer, and speakers. These upgrades are all designed to ensure an exceptional audio experience for our patrons. We are also dedicated to promoting arts education through our annual scholarship program, currently awarding $2,000 to a deserving student each year. This initiative helps support aspiring artists and future educators as they pursue their college education in the arts.
THE FUTURE: Our next exciting venture involves upgrading our lighting system to further improve visibility and elevate the overall experience for our patrons. Additionally, we plan to expand the scope of our productions by offering junior musicals, summer camps, and additional performances for the Lakeway community.
